MRS Packrafts Assist Bend Racing Team in Winning ATR

In recent years, MRS has actively joined the global adventure field, closely collaborating with numerous explorers and water sports enthusiasts. Together, they have driven the innovative application and continuous improvement of packrafts in diverse events and extreme challenges, created thrilling adventure stories.

In the recently concluded 2024 America’s Toughest Race: Expedition Oregon (ATR), Bend Racing team, who cooperated with MRS fir a long time, won the first place finally and showed outstanding performance and relentless spirit.

This event is known for its extreme challenges and harsh conditions, known as the toughest race in America. The race attracted 27 teams from the U.S., New Zealand, Mexico, the U.K., Estonia, and Sweden. It included trekking, cycling, paddling, and climbing, demanding exceptional physical endurance, skills, and willpower from participants.

Speaking of the race’s difficulty, members of the Bend Racing team said, “Adventure racing is tough! In the U.S., there are few races like this besides Ozark and Endless Mountains. most challenging part of ATR was the rafting section. This is a race where you must be equipped with high-quality packrafts to succeed, and you also need to hone your navigation skills. It’s definitely not an easy race!”

Over the intense six-day competition, the Bend Racing team covered 350 miles of rugged terrain. They faced challenges daily, including rafting, hiking, and cycling. Notably, on the third day, they completed a grueling 20-hour trek. However, these challenges ignited their fighting spirit and teamwork, driving them to emerge victorious.

The team praised the outstanding performance of the MRS packrafts during the race: “The MRS packrafts are fast, durable, and stable, offering an excellent paddling experience. During the Class III rapids, we chose the model with a spray skirt, which effectively prevented the need to stop multiple times to empty water, saving much time. Compared to other teams’ packrafts, the MRS Barracuda R2 was undoubtedly faster and more stable.”

While the ATR is known as “America’s Toughest Race,” its goal isn’t to punish the participants but to create an atmosphere filled with adventure, allowing competitors to freely explore the terrain. This aligns perfectly with MRS’s philosophy of helping more people explore the unknown, challenge themselves, and achieve greatness.
