2025: Kick off the New Year with a Sunshine SPA and Connecting with Nature through the First Packrafting of the Year

As the new year begins, the weather is perfect—what could be both enjoyable and meaningful to do? How about going packrafting and picking up some trash along the way?

Last year, MRS teamed up with @阅路山 to launch the “Clear Water, Green Mountains, Protecting Nature” campaign, which was met with great praise from participants. To kick off 2025, a chain reaction in the Packraft Player Community quickly attracted dozens of participants, with over twenty packrafts taking part. This event continues the mission of protecting nature and promoting clean waterways.

This time, the event saw families with children joining in, and one participant who had been watching fireworks on Liuyang River in Hunan province the night before. Upon seeing the event in the group chat, they rushed back from Changsha the very next day, showing just how much excitement this event generated! MRS also took part and provided small gifts as event rewards and New Year presents.

On New Year’s Day, everyone embarked on a fantastic journey. In the morning, participants arrived at the meeting point and prepared their equipment to set off. The trip started at Shuangyan Village, with Yongan Dock as the launch point.

Some participants brought their pets along to enjoy a relaxing Sunshine SPA. Along the way, they encountered a few small rapids, which thrilled those who had only packrafted on still water before. With professional coaches offering safety guidance, everyone bravely took on the challenge and experienced the thrill of navigating through moving water.

Children, alongside their parents, not only joined in the packrafting and trash collection efforts but also had fun catching little shrimp in the river!

As the sun began to set, the Fuhe River shimmered with the golden glow of the evening light. The surrounding trees, sky, and the birds flying overhead created a peaceful and serene atmosphere. Participants greeted each other quietly, careful not to disturb the birds. In this calm setting, everyone felt a deep sense of achievement from contributing to environmental protection while enjoying the peaceful joy of birdwatching.

The group continued to drift along the Fuhe River under the soft glow of the sunset, with gentle ripples spreading across the water’s surface. Everything felt serene and beautiful.

As the sun set on New Year’s Day, everyone worked together to collect nearly 100 pounds of trash along a 7-kilometer stretch of the Fuhe River, giving the year a strong, positive start!

Looking ahead, MRS will continue to rely on local communities and professional coaches. Not only will we keep organizing cleaning activities during packrafting, but we also hope to inspire every outdoor enthusiast’s love for nature, encouraging the habit of taking trash away as a natural part of water-based activities.
