MRS Packraft Recycled Material Rebirth Project
— Everything Can Be Recycled, and Beauty Will Endure
As an outdoor sports brand rooted in global exploration, MRS bridges the gap between outdoor adventure and ecological conservation. While focusing on “nature,” we are not only dedicated to promoting outdoor sports, but also, for nature enthusiasts, we strive to transmit the message of protecting nature through every exploration deep into the wilderness.
Since 2022, MRS has collaborated with the flagship species research team of Siguniang Mountain to embark on an ecological journey to explore biodiversity – “What Are We Searching For?”* When MRS’s scientific expedition captured the first image of a snow leopard, followed by three consecutive years of field research, we began to think: beyond documenting nature, what other issues can we do to create a sustainable future?
In 2025, MRS cooperate with the Chinese retro handmade bag aesthetics brand HK WORKSHOP, with “sustainable development” as the core philosophy, to embark on the extraordinary journey of the Waste Material Rebirth Project!
Why do we Launch the Waste Material Rebirth Project?
In today’s “dual carbon” era, with the growing emphasis on reducing plastic, industries around the world are increasingly focused on their social responsibility while pursuing economic benefits. They are shifting their thinking and actively adopting new eco-friendly attitudes. Many brands have replaced single-use products with safe, recyclable, and biodegradable materials, reducing plastic waste at the source. At the same time, they use recycled waste products to create eco-friendly materials, increasing the likelihood of repeated use. A new trend of sustainable green consumption is gradually forming between companies and consumers.
As an outdoor brand, we generate a large amount of waste material in packrafts production process, which means high costs for the brand and more consumption of raw materials. Therefore, while striving for continuous technological breakthroughs in product development, recycling and utilizing these discarded scraps to increase their chances of reuse has become a key part of our product planning.
Waste Material Rebirth — We Call It the “Happy Cycle” Eco Crossbody Bag
For the first time, we have recycled the scraps that were originally discarded during the production of our packraft products. These materials come from the TPU-coated textile fabrics used in MRS packraft. They were specifically developed by MRS in deep collaboration with high-quality fabric manufacturers, designed for high performance and an eco-friendly philosophy, and have earned the **BLUESIGN®** certification. However, due to stringent manufacturing standards, some scraps remained.

HK WORKSHOP, with their exquisite craftsmanship, has given these waste materials a new life, transforming them into an urban gear that blends vintage aesthetics with powerful functionality — we call it the “Happy Cycle” eco bag. It not only continues the essence of HK -CBC’s small square bag, known for its casual use, easy placement, and effortless approach to every moment, but also symbolizes the endless possibilities of resource recycling. It carries both MRS and HK WORKSHOP’s respect for nature and the future.

Everything Can Be Recycled, and Beauty Will Endure
As a brand, we may not encounter the melting ice at the poles, nor touch the plastic accumulating at the bottom of the ocean. But MRS’s philosophy integrates manufacturing with life. Just like “an eagle builds its nest in a tree, protected by the shade of the tree; the tree absorbs the rain, nurtured by the water’s embrace.” All things are inherently part of nature, intertwined and protecting each other. Therefore, connecting the concept of “protecting nature” and the sustainable idea of “everything can be recycled” with the product itself, allowing “products” to be recycled, is the core responsibility MRS, as a brand, should offer to our consumers.
