China’s premier flatwater packrafting event returns to the historic waterways of Nanxun Ancient Town, bringing together paddlers from across the nation for an unforgettable weekend of competition and cultural immersion.

The historic Nanxun Ancient Town in Zhejiang Province once again served as the stunning backdrop for China’s only professional flatwater packrafting competition. This year’s event attracted participants from across the country, combining the thrill of competitive racing with the unique charm of traditional Jiangnan watertown architecture.
The competition featured two main categories designed to accommodate different skill levels and family participation. The challenging 5KM Elite Race tested the skills of serious competitors, while the beloved Family Fun Race ensured that paddlers of all ages could enjoy the experience together.

? Competition Highlights
The Family Fun Race opened with the crowd-favorite “Ancient Town Duck Scoop Challenge,” where teams worked together amid laughter echoing across the historic canals. This unique event has become a signature element of the Nanxun competition, perfectly blending sport with entertainment.
Meanwhile, elite competitors demonstrated exceptional skill navigating the technical 5KM course. The route included challenging slalom gates, narrow bridge passages, and tight turns that tested both speed and precision. Participants powered through using nothing but a single paddle and their packrafts, showcasing the pure essence of the sport.

This inclusive atmosphere reflects MRS’s commitment to making packrafting accessible to everyone.
The crystal-clear waterways of Nanxun provided the perfect natural venue, while the town’s UNESCO World Heritage setting added cultural depth to the sporting experience. Participants not only competed but also immersed themselves in centuries of Chinese water town history.
